The Modigliani String Quartet, praised by the Süddeutsche Zeitung as “one of today’s best quartets in the world,” returns to Kansas City with a program pairing a recent work by Czech composer Kryštof Mařatka with two landmarks of the quartet repertoire. Inspired by a portrait by Amedeo Modigliani, Mařatka’s Amedea explores themes of love, timelessness, and passion, placing a contemporary voice in dialogue with tradition. The program continues with Claude Debussy’s groundbreaking Quartet in G minor and concludes with Robert Schumann’s Quartet in A major, a deeply expressive work from his seminal chamber music year of 1842.

If you would like to add a companion ticket for $5, select a "TeenTix Plus One" ticket. Choose “Will Call” as your delivery method (or it will be applied automatically after purchase). On the day of the performance, arrive at least 30 minutes early, present your TeenTix digital pass, and collect your ticket(s) from Will Call.
