For more than 60 years, Kansas City Young Audiences (KCYA) has engaged all youth in the arts, promoted creativity, and inspired success in education. Dedicated to serving Kansas City, Western Missouri, and Eastern Kansas, KCYA provides high-quality arts education that allows students to express themselves, build problem-solving skills, and enhance learning across the arts, sciences, and core academic subjects. Our belief is simple: all children deserve equal access to transformative arts experiences.
At our Community School of the Arts, children ages 3–17 can explore dance, music, visual arts, Garage Band, and theatre through year-round classes, summer camps, and theatrical productions. Led by professional teaching artists, these programs go beyond technique to foster creativity, confidence, and a sense of belonging in every student.
KCYA also reaches far beyond our Midtown campus through School and Community Programs, partnering with a robust roster of Teaching Artists to deliver performances, workshops, residencies, and after-school programs in schools, libraries, community centers, and hospitals. These arts-integrated experiences have enriched the lives of more than 6 million children, sparking curiosity, inspiring innovation, and cultivating a lifelong love of the arts.
